Wreck first part - The Bow
UJ 2207, a fishing boat converted to an armed cargo during the WWII
UJ 2207 was built on 1926 as a fishing boat, converted to a submarine fighters in 1942 during the WWII by Germany army.
The ship was sunk on November 19, 1944 by some Allied torpedo boats.
It lies on the seabed in front of Sestri Levante, on a depth of -40 meters divided in two parts. He hull broke off where the torpedo hit.
During the dive it is easy to found suspension in the water which makes the overall view of the wreck difficult.
The bow of the boat rise from the seabed in a majestic way. The deck is corroded and partially collapsed in places. In the not collapsed parts it is possible to find the candlestick to support machine guns, an empty ammo crate and other objects. In the upper part of the deck, on the top of the ladder, it is still possible to see two water tanks. Moving toward the stern it is visible the point of impact of the torpedo, where there are torn sheets.
Diving on this wreck brings to mind the terrible consequences of WWII .
