Passo Val Loga

Do you want to beat your yesterday ? Don’t miss the hike to Passo Val Loga. This site is very close to the Switzerland border, and can be reached by crossing Val Loga near Passo dello Spluga – Lombardia region.

When you get Montespluga village located on the shores of a dam, you can enter the Val Loga, and at its end, you will find the Bivacco Val Loga, and not so far away also Passo Val Loga.

Bivacco Val Loga is a very little shelter with few beds, located at an altitude of 2770 meters, and Passo Val Loga on the Switzerland border is 2919 meters high.

We at BBofItaly tackled this adventure during spring season, when at high altitudes there is still a lot of snow. So in several parts the path was completely covered and hidden by huge snow fields, in same cases dangerous to cross because caves could be present under them due to the thaw.

In these cases alternative paths must be discovered, but usually they are very hard and sometime even dangerous due to the presence of ice and because very steep, but of course the adventure becomes more tricky and intriguing even if the difference in level to overcome is not so high !

At any rate going up it is possible to find a pristine nature, with amazing landscapes on mountains beyond 3000 meters of altitude and on the main Valle Spluga. So absolutely it is worth to do this trip.
