Rifugio Vicenza

Dolomiti, magical place ! Ever seen a rocky kingdom ? Something that makes you beside yourself ? Imagine a gateway of this kingdom made by a bastion with a huge mountain and vertical walls, the mountain is called Dantersasc – 2820 meters of altitude.

This bastion is a watershed of two little and narrow valleys, the rocky kingdom. On the flank of one of them – right hand side if you look at the bastion – there are Torri del Sassopiatto, a bunch of natural high and unbelievable towers. On the flank of the other little valley – left hand side if you look at the bastion – there is the massif Ciampani Wessely (3093 meters of altitude).

If you are imagining what the environment of this rocky kingdom is like, you may not be able to understand its beauty and wilderness. Therefore the only way is to get there and check out this site !

The path to reach the gateway – the bastion of the rocky kingdom – is not difficult and not very long. You can start from the village of Santa Cristina – Valgardena. Then using a cable car, it is possible to reach the starting point of the path.

At the foot of the bastion there is Rifugio Vicenza. You can imagine something like a fortress where soldiers check whoever wants to get in the rocky kingdom.

Rifugio Vicenza is a fantastic shelter encompassed by an awesome environment ! From here entering the valley located on the left hand side of the bastion, you can reach Forcella del Sassolungo – 2685 meters of level – crossing the incredible rocky kingdom !
