Serrisotri shelter - Solda Valley
Solda is a village on the border between the central Alps and Dolomiti (Dolomites). It is embedded in a fantastic valley – the Solda Valley – and is also dominated by Ortles, Zebrù and Gran Zebrù, the first 3905 meters high, the second 3735 meters high and the third 3851 meters high with their huge glaciers.
To enjoy one of the most beautiful landscapes of this valley and its gorgeous mountains, it is worth visiting “Il pulpito” (the pulpit) and the Serristori shelter.
The pulpit is a natural balcony present in the first stretch of Valle di Zay a lateral valley of the Solda one. This zone can be reached by foot or more easily by a cable car. From here the view over Solda valley and especially over Ortles, Zebrù and Gran Zebrù is breathtaking. Something unbelievable !
Just close to the top of the Zay valley, at 2721 meters of altitude, is the Serristori shelter. The path to get this building starts from the pulpit and it is fantastic for the landscape and the environment it crosses. Only the last part of this path is very steep but never dangerous.
