Rifugio Del Grande Camerini

Rifugio Del Grande Camerini is a shelter located in Alpi of Lombardia region, close to the Switzerland border.

It is in a gorgeous position in front of the north face of Monte Disgrazia (3678 meters) characterized by a huge glacier with a big ice “meringue” hanged below the top of the mountain. So the land scape is unique.

Rifugio Del Grande Camerini is very tiny. It has only ten beds, a kitchenette and a little dinner room. But its balcony is fantastic for the view on Monte Disgrazia. On the back of the shelter can be seen Monte Sissone (3327 meters),Cima di Rosso (3366 meters) and Cima di Vezzeda (3301 meters).

The path to get Rifugio Del Grande Camerini is not particularly hard, but it is long. It starts in Chiareggio a village in the highest part of Valmalenco. This beautiful valley merges in Valtellina where Sondrio village is located and it is dominated by Monte Disgrazia but also by the chain of Monte Bernina (4049 meters). Of course Valmalenco is worth to be visited and spend some relaxing days.
