Hiking around Quart - Valle D'Aosta
Gravity is a huge force, a deformed space which grinds us with its heel. But it also participates in the major processes which shape the earth’s environment over time, making something unbelievable.
Valle d’Aosta was shaped in ancient times by huge glaciers pushed by gravity, and because of this kind of natural phenomena nowadays we can enjoy gorgeous landscapes in this region, some gentle, others very harsh.
Quart is a little village located at the door of Aosta city. The land surrounding the village gives you a feeling of tranquillity thanks to its green meadows some of which used as vineyards.
The landscape is dominated by huge mountains such as: Monte Emilius (3559 meters high), Becca di Nona (3142 meters high), Becca di Salè (3137 meters high) and Mont Pere Laurent (2540 meters high). So the contrast is very strong among meadows and these very high and rugged mountains.
Walking in the Quart area is a very relaxing experience. The car can be parked close to the convent of Clausura nuns named Mater Misericordiae and from here you can hike along dirt little roads which wing through vineyards and green meadows, enjoying a gorgeous panorama and meeting riders on splendid horses.
What an amazing experience to gallop with a horse immersed in an environment like this !
