Predarossa – Valtellina

BBOI team wants to introduce you one of the most beautiful mountain destination during the fall season: Predarossa, situated in the last part of Val Masino, a later valley of Valtellina (Lombardia). Predarossa in crossed by Duino river which twists and turns among this plain as a snake, if you goes up to the second plain you will be able to see the particular river shape and the valley.

You will wind up at an altitude of 1900 mt in front of a massive mountain called Monte Disgrazia with its glacier, it is already possible to see it at the beginning of the hike, where you can easily park your car. The road which goes up to the parking from Val Masino is a little bit narrow, as the majority of the mountain streets.

The perfect season to go there is Autumn because of Predarossa colours, this valley turns red and orange, a guaranteed show especially during the afternoon when colours are more intense. Anyway, you can get there also during Summer in order to enjoy a pleasant walk in the green nature.

This walk is very easy and suitable for children, you will get to the second plain in more or less 1 hour, then you can relish a good pic-nic and a nap among the grassland. And if you are a walking lover, it is possible also to continue the path up to Rifugio Ponti at 2559 mt, running along the left side of the river.
