Porto Flavia and Pan di Zucchero - Sardegna
BBOI team is excited to introduce you this special seaside destination: Porto Flavia and Pan di Zucchero. They are situated in the Iglesias coast of Sardegna, precisely in the extreme southwest, and they are reachable from Masua with a boat or a rubber dinghy.
Porto Flavia is a harbour built during the twentieth century, it is hanging on a cliff overlooking the sea and used for minerals trade, indeed there are some tunnels dug in the cliff, fascinating isn’t it? BBOI team thinks that this is a special place to visit, you will love the contrast between twhite calcareous rocks and blue sea!
Pan di Zucchero is a natural monument in the middle of the sea, it means literally suger bread, a very funny name for a cliff! It has been transformed by karstic events and it has a height of 133 mt, sure enough it is possible to climb it thanks to an equipped path. We suggest you to try this experience since it is suitable for everyone, you just need a local guide.
By boat you can also pass through two caves dug into this big sea stack, so a truly wonderful tour! Besides the boat tour often includes a visit to some caves, as Grotta Sardegna which is the best one for its absolutely stunning sea colours, but also Grotta del Soffione. The latter is characterized by waves which bounds into the cavity and spray, so funny!
Of course during the trip it is also possible to have a bath in this light blue sea and if you have a snorkeling mask, you will be able to see coloured fish, different seaweeds and a clear seabed.
BBOI team suggests you to plan your summer holiday in the South of Sardegna if you love seaside, adventure and breathtaking landscapes.
