Crabbia - Osteria San Martino
Close to Orta San Giulio located on Lago d’Orta – Piemonte, there is a tiny village named Crabbia. It isn’t on the shore of the lake, but it is placed on the hill flank. In this village there is a little restaurant called Osteria San Martino, where fantastic local gastronomy and good wine can be tasted in a completely relaxed and quiet atmosphere. So it is warmly suggested not to miss this experience.
Of course several dishes with fantastic food can be chosen and among them Bagna Càuda must be absolutely tasted. In Piemontese dialect Bagna Càuda means warm sauce and its ingredients are garlic, olive oil and anchovies. Of course the recipe of Bagna Càuda can have some differences in various parts of Piemonte region but its flavour is always strong because of the presence of garlic and anchovies. Normally the warm sauce has to be eaten with vegetables.
As local dishes, Osteria San Martino can offer also rice cooked in several ways and meat from a special Piemontese cow race named Fassone. About wine, several types of reds and whites can be tasted, and of course at Osteria San Martino there are so many possible good Piemontesi choices.!
