Osteria della Bietola

Osteria in Italian language means a site where very good wine is served and normally is accompanied with some simple food but very healthy and well cooked. So it is a very rustic restaurant but where it is possible to have tasty dishes and special wine.

In Pontremoli (village of Lunigiana land) is present Osteria della Bietola that absolutely cannot be missed and where local food and several types of wine are served. It is located inside a very old building and its rooms are shaped like a porch made by stones. So it is very characteristic and because of this it is worth to spend a night for a simple but good dinner.

Among several foods of Lunigiana land must be mentioned Testaroli. This is a very particular kind of pasta that has old origins. It can be served with several type of sauce and in the picture here below Testaroli have been prepared with Pesto a very special sauce largely used in Lunigiana land and in Liguria region.

Another local food that must be mentioned and that of course can be tasted at Osteria della Bietola, is Torta d’Erbi. It is a salty and tasty cake done with several types of vegetables. Also this is a dish of Lunigiana land with very old origins.
