Magliano - Toscana
Magliano is a village in Maremma – Toscana region – with medieval origins. It is characterized by fantastic and well conserved boundary walls, where it is possible to have a walk on their top, enjoying a gorgeous view on surrounding environment and landscape of Argentario and its sea.
One of the main squares of Magliano is named Piazza della Libertà where Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista can be found. This church has Romanesque origins, but during years its structure has been changed. Inside this building some frescoes of Senese domain period are present. Bell tower of this church is also very beautiful.
Amazing is the village door – named Porta di San Martino – opened on a gorgeous landscape with also the view on external side of the boundary walls.
Don’t miss to observe Palazzo di Checco il Bello from Senese period (XIV century). This palace has been inhabited by several powerful and noble families, but also by Francesco Salvi a particular guy well known as women lover and because of this called with Checco il Bello nickname.
This building is located alongside Corso Garibaldi, one of the main and fantastic medieval road of Magliano, where a lot of typical food shops and restaurants can be found.
