L'Oca d'oro
Do you want to find out a special place where your palate can be truly satisfied with special flavours ?
You cannot miss L’Oca d’oro which is not a mere restaurant ! So let us introduce you to this special place. It is located in Montalbo hamlet – Ziano Piacentino district – encompassed by a splendid nature with hills and meadows characterized by the presence of vineyards and other agricultural activities.
From Montalbo, which is on the top of a hill, you can enjoy a gorgeous view of the Pianura Padana with the Po river – the longest in Italy. Furthermore it is a real pleasure to stroll through the alleys of this hamlet, also because there is a castle of medieval origins, called Castello Scotti.
Let’s now talk about L’Oca d’oro. As mentioned this is not a mere restaurant but a farmhouse – agriturismo – nowadays managed by three very dynamic sisters – Agata, Lidia, Marta. The history of this place dates back to 1925 when Mr. Giuseppe Vitali – the sisters’ grandfather – purchased the farm.
It was then transformed into a farmhouse by the new generation together with their parents – Gianna and Carlo. Here you can taste real 0 km food, that is, vegetables and animals grown and raised directly on the farm and cooked by Carlo with ancient and local recipes.
But that’s not all, because you can taste this unique gastronomy directly in the house where Mr. Giuseppe Vitali once lived. In short you will be a guest of the family. A unique experience not to be missed !
Now here below is the description of the dishes we have tasted on behalf of BBofItaly. It is worth underlining that they change based on what nature can offer during the different seasons:
