Lake of Changier

The question is, is there the heaven here on our earth ? Of course you could say no, it is not present ! But if you want to visit the Lago di Changier (lake of Changier) perhaps you could change your mind, starting to think that heaven could be present here, not so far away.

This lake is located in Valle d’Aosta region, more precisely in Val di Rhemes (Rhemes valley). It is at an altitude of 2650 meters. Laid down in a little basin, it is tiny but gorgeous, overlooked by the peak of Changier (Becca di Changier 2731 meters) and the peak of Laugier (Becca di Laugier 3076 meters).

Visiting this site located in the “high lands”, is truly a special experience, and this lonely but wonderful lake will leave a unique feeling in your hart. A feeling of being merged with the surrounding gorgeous nature !

Starting from the hamlet of Melignon (1600 meters) in Val di Rhemes, it possible to reach Feluma valley through a very simple path. This side and little valley is located at an altitude of 2000 meters. It is fantastic because encompassed by very high peaks which form the watershed between Val di Rhemes and Valgrisenche.

In Feluma valley is also present a wonderful pasture with a shelter where a shepherd takes care of a herd of cows, and produces the fantastic local cheese called Fontina. By crossing this valley you can get a little pass at an altitude of 2400 meters and with a very aerial path that winds along the flank of Val di Rhemes, you can easily reach the lake of Changier.
