Lago di San Grato – Valle D’Aosta

BBOI’s team is pleased to propose a beautiful trek over San Grato’s lake. That’s a real wild spot, at 2,462 meters of altitude and close to the French border. San Grato’s path is suitable for everyone, not so difficult nor long, and we highly recommend to go visit this beautiful place during autumn. The landscape is simply magnificent and while walking, your eyes will be enchanted by the stunning colors of nature, very particular during this season.

Starting ideally from the top, you can see the grey of the sky mixing up with the bright white of high peaks. The vibrant yellow and orange trees ending in the deep brown of path. In other words, everything here makes you feel the power and the beauty of the unspotted nature.

Visitors from the lake may easily see Testa del Rutor peak, which is 3,486 meters high, and the front part of its impressive glacier.

Just an interesting curiosity, on the left side of the ascending path French border’s mountain could be admired, a lonely place where in the past centuries lot of soldiers lived and fought.
