La Scagna
La Scagna in Bergamo dialect means La Sedia in Italian language (the chair). This is the name of a famous restaurant located in the city of Lombardia region.
In this restaurant you can taste some local dishes including Scarpinocc, Casoncelli and Coniglio con Polenta.
Let’s say some words about Scarpinocc and Casoncelli. These are two very special and tasty kind of pasta whit a particular shape that seems to came from and old type of shoes.
Scarpinocc is a typical dish from Parre a little village in Val Seriana, a valley located in Bergamo district. This pasta is stuffed with bread and cheese and has a yellowish colour. Casoncelli is a typical dish of Bergamo and this pasta has the same shape as Scarpinocc but it is stuffed with meat.
It is impossible describe in words the flavor of these two dishes but believe us they are super especially together with a good bottle of red wine.
Polenta is another kind of food very popular in Italian mountain places and also in Bergamo where Polenta accompanied with Coniglio (rabbit meat) cooked with red wine is widespread.
You can’t miss at all Scarpinocc, Casoncelli and Polenta con Coniglio.
Of course cured meats declined in different way in each region, are always present on Italian tables.
