La Cascata

La Cascata is a tiny but beautiful and charming restaurant located at Introbio, a hamlet in Valsassina – Lombardia region.

This is a kind of restaurant where surely you would like to spend time, completely relaxed, with some good friends, enjoying superb food, chatting quietly and drinking a good glass of Italian wine.

Valsassina is dominated by the Grigna mountain group (2410 meters of altitude for its top). This valley runs from Lecco towards Bellano, two village located on Lago di Como, a gorgeous area with a fantastic environment not so far from Valtellina well known also for some special wines.

La Cascata offers a big variety of food, but of course local cuisine must be tasted. As starter for example cured meat accompanied with funghi, carciofini and cipolle along with olio di oliva is a spectacular dishes !

Then gamey meat – Capriolo – with Polenta cannot be missed. Polenta has a yellow colour and is prepared with cereal or corn flour. It can be mixed with cheese and normally is served along with meat cooked with special kinds of gravy. This dishes is usually prepared in the north mountain part of Italy with some variants.

At La Cascata restaurant of course delicious desserts can be tasted.
