Il Balivo

BBOI team aim is to discover and to suggest you the best restaurants with the coolest location and the most excellent food.

For this reason we have chosen “Il Balivo”, a welcoming restaurant in Champoluc, one of the italian favourite destinations in Aosta Valley. We are in the most important center of Val d’Ayas, more precisely in the terminal part of this valley, at almost 1600 m…the perfect destination in both winter and summer!

The menu is delicious, they offer first choice meat, heavenly typical cured meat and homemade pasta. It also possible to taste local wines, they have a big selection of cellars and also a sommelier who can guide you.

Indeed, their wine offer is mainly autochthon so you can discover niche labels, this is very valuable since those types of wine are not easy to find in foreign countries or in other italian regions.

This place is cosy, quiet, portions are copious and bread is so tasty! If you go there, don’t miss their gnocchi with Fontina cheese and Mocetta, their homemade tagliatelle with boar meat ragù or Agnolotti, a type of fresh pasta stuffed with meat, of course with a flavored and well structured glass of  Aosta Valley wine!

Clearly, we recommend you finishing your lunch or dinner with a good dessert, as you can see in the pictures below, they are spectacular and the refined ingredients are well balanced.
