Sagittario Canyon – Abruzzo

BBOI’s team is excited to propose you this incredible motorbiking tour into a natural reserve called Sagittario Canyon, situated in Abruzzo.

This enormous calcareous canyon was created thanks to the millenial water erosion by Sagittario river, which obviously gave the name to the canyon. Something interesting: this place is also a WWF Oasis, of course because of its various flora and fauna!

How you can get there? It is possible to start the tour from Sulmona, then you will get to Anversa Degli Abruzzi and finally to San Domenico Lake, one of the most beautiful and panoramic place, as you are able to see in the pictures. BBOI team suggests you to go on until you reach Scanno Lake, another famous destination in Abruzzo. Actually, in this area there are lots of small villages to visit and full of nature, so you will be spoiled of choice!

As Sagittario canyon is a natural reserve it’s not hard to see animals like eagles and falcons and if you are a nature lovers, it is also possible to visit the oasis by foot with a local guide who can show you all the secrets corners of this enchanting place.

Instead, for riders, it is possible to organise a tour from Sulmona to Majella National Park which is long more or less 150 km so that you are able to see lots of beautiful points of interest in Abruzzo in just one day! Moreover this is a very wide track, fully asphalt-covered without any offroad tracks, so it’s very easy and enjoyable also for couples who travel together.
